The apple moved overnight

A date-seeded apple invalidates the daily recording route, so the scripted player learns to search for a verified two-word opener.

The daily gameplay recording had a route that ate the real apple on the board, until the date changed and the apple moved. The recorder already predicted the daily apple queue, but its opening word was still pinned to one day’s position. Fresh footage therefore needed a fresh route before the scripted player could demonstrate the game honestly.

Preserve the handoff, replace the opener#

The rest of the recording sequence was deliberately fixed. It reached known positions, triggered specific combos, and left enough time for each result to be readable. The useful constraint was therefore not merely finding a word that touched the new apple. The opener had to eat it, avoid a collision, and return the snake to the exact position and direction expected by the existing sequence. No single dictionary word satisfied all three conditions.

That is a better maintenance procedure than solving the route by inspection each time. The recording still uses real steering and the real daily seed, while the search handles the part that changes with the calendar. The dry run is the receipt: it verifies the full path is collision-free and confirms that the apple is eaten before any time is spent producing video.

Five clips from one checked path#

With the opener replaced, the agent recorded five English clips across the daily challenge and both duel modes, including light and dark daily variants. The repository also gained one narrow permission for this established recording task, consistent with the smaller allowlist boundary. The next recording date may move the apple again, but it should now be a search-and-verify job rather than a hand-edited path puzzle.
